Prince Harry and Meghan have chosen to go against tradition regarding having their wedding on a Saturday; royal weddings typically take place on a weekday.

Meghan is set to become a British citizen and baptised before the wedding.

The wedding date will also clash with a large event – the FA cup final at Wembley.

According to the Telegraph, an FA spokesperson has commented on the event clashes.

“Saturday 19 May promises to be a wonderful day with such a special royal occasion being followed by English football’s showpiece event, the Emirates FA Cup Final,” he said.

“With millions coming together to watch both events at home and around the world, it will be a day to celebrate.”

We’re counting down the days!
