Is he willing to wear jandals in semi inappropriate situations? If so, he might be in luck.

His love of New Zealand is well documented. Earlier this year musician Ed Sheeran spoke out about his desire to move to New Zealand, telling radio station ZM that after a 2016 holiday here he made inquiries about becoming a Kiwi citizen.

“”I did ask for citizenship and I think we got an email from someone involved with that. So maybe that’s going to happen.”

Ed has toured New Zealand many times and delighted Kiwi fans when he wore an All Blacks jersey when he performed in Auckland.

But Ed has grown impatient and earlier this week he went straight to the top. In a video message with ZM he appealed directly to Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern.

“I’m not yet a citizen of New Zealand but I’m working on it. Hook me up Prime Minister please.”

And now the Prime Minister has responded.

In the tongue in cheek video, she tells Ed that before she’s able to properly consider his request she has some very important questions.

“Do you like pineapple lumps?” and “are you willing to wear jandals in semi inappropriate situations?”

“And third, most important question of all – are you willing to make New Zealand your home?”

We have a question of our own for you Ed. Are you willing to renounce your support for the England rugby team and back the All Blacks from here on in? If so, how soon can you move here?
