Versace pays tribute to Gianni by reuniting ’90s supermodels at Milan Fashion Week

Donatella payed tribute to Gianni's 20th anniversary of death in the best way possible.

It was the perfect end to a perfect evening.

Supermodels Carla Bruni, Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Claudia Schiffer and Helena Christiansen, all payed tribute to Gianni Versace on the 20th anniversary of his death, by making an epic return in ’90s-inspired golden gowns at Milan Fashion Week.

The show, helmed by Dontella Versace, Gianni’s sister, was mostly inspired by Gianni Versace’s ’90s classics. So it was really only fitting that Donatella were to call on the five supermodels whose careers were greatly shaped by Gianni’s influence.

With an ending of low lights, George Michael’s “Freedom ’90” and a curtain pulled back to reveal the thigh-high golden gowns; it really was a fantastic throwback to Gianni’s success.

Donatella Versace also expressed her excitement and gratitude on Instagram by saying thank-you to her “icons.”
