Kate Moss is launching her very own model agency, the star has revealed this week.

The 42-year-old Londoner, who has clocked up almost 30 years in the fashion business through her modelling and designing endeavours, told Business of Fashion she would launch the business this month.

And Moss claims she’s after more than just good looks in her potential clients, telling the website: “I don’t really want pretty people… I want to create stars.”

“I want to focus more on managing people’s careers than just [running] a model agency… I want people that want to sing and dance and act.”

The supermodel will take Lucy Baxter, who was in charge of booking Kate’s jobs while she was with Storm, into the new venture.

Kate was discovered at 14 in a New York airport by the founder of Storm Models. At the time, the supermodel era of tall, womanly figures was still in full swing, but Kate heralded a new trend that became known as ‘heroin chic.’

Her waifish, stripped-back look took off in the early 90s and she became one of the most in demand models of the generation – able to turn her hand at everything from grunge to high glamour.

Some of her most famous campaigns included for Calvin Klein’s Obsession, calvin Klein jeans (with none other than Mark Wahlberg), and for Supreme.

The company website is currently under construction

But despite many models of the 90s fading away, Moss has continued to command high profile campaigns well into her late thirties and forties, adding to her resume with design undertakings too.

In 2007, she signed a contact with Topshop to design a collection, which flew off shelves in the U.K. This prompted a second collection in 2014, which was also a commercial success.
