It looks like rapper Kanye West might be branching out into the world of beauty, with plans in place to produce a range of cosmetics.
The breakout isn’t such a departure for the husband of reality star Kim Kardashian who already has fashion line Yeezy, under his belt, but he could be up against some stiff competition, namely from famous sister-in law, Kylie Jenner.
TMZ reports the Famous singer has “filed legal docs declaring his intention to produce DONDA brand makeup, perfumes, lotions and other cosmetics.”
Donda, is the name of Kayne’s mother who passed away in 2007 following multiple cosmetic procedures.
There’s no word yet as to what Kanye’s move into the business will mean for the Kardashian clan, although it’s quite likely the family have recognised Kylie’s phenomenal success as a budding beauty mogul.
Kylie (19), who is the youngest of the famous reality television family, launched her beauty line, Kylie Cosmetics, in 2016. Her products are a huge hit with fans, and often sell-out within days each time a new product hits the shelves.
According to the Daily Mail, Kylie’s Lip Kits alone have made her an estimated fortune of US$8.7 million. She has also branched out into eye shadow, and this week announced a range of highlighters would soon be available.
It’s believed Kim Kardashian is working on her new fragrance line, which she discussed on last season Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
In addition to Kanye’s beauty business, TMZ claims the rapper wants to be the “new Martha Stewart” with plans to create a lifestyle brand that includes credit cards, cars, wallpaper screens, furnishings, video games, amusement parks, hotels, fitness centres and health fast food.
