Sitting in her Auckland home with a three-month-old baby girl bouncing on her knee, Bachelor NZ star Kate Cameron couldn’t look happier.
It’s a far cry from when we last saw the Woman’s Day advertising guru. It was only a mere 18 months ago when we watched Jordan Mauger send her packing from the Bachelor mansion.
But since then life has completely transformed for the new mum who not only has beautiful baby Lucy Rose on her hands, but a sparkling engagement ring too!
It was just after she was eliminated from the top five of the reality dating show that she met her fiancé Brandon Hiini, 35.
“It was less than week later, I went to a bar in Auckland and Brandon was standing there,” smiles Kate remembering the moment. “We struck up a conversation because he recognised me as ‘Kate from The Bachelor‘.”
While the rest of the country watched her battle it out for Jordan’s heart, secretly Kate was already falling madly in love with Brandon. Despite the fact that it was “bizarre in the beginning” the couple felt like they were made for each other and moved in together just a few months into the relationship.
And while Kate says her experience on The Bachelor left her cold, she’s not necessarily done with reality TV.
“Brandon and I love renovating. If we can get through a baby and an engagement in a year, we could be good competition on The Block NZ!”
